Perpetuandi Course on "Biblical Theology on Consecrated Life"
Rev. John Francis C. Aberion, RCJ / Pastoral Institute for Vocation Ministry
2 Oct 2020

The two-session module workshop on "Biblical Theology on Consecrated Life" concluded yesterday October 3, with Fr. Ulrich Gacayan, RCJ as its facilitator. The workshop started last Saturday, September 26, which forms part of the program of the Pastoral Institute for Vocation Ministry (PIVM) for the religious students preparing for the Perpetual Profession.
Fr. Ulrich expounded on the biblical theology of consecrated life as rooted in Jesus, the Son of God, the Word-made-flesh, who is chaste, poor, and obedient in his mission of inaugurating the reign of God. He proposed that, following the Vatican II's Lumen Gentium, every religious becomes a "signpost" of the Kingdom of God. He also proposed a deepening of the Sacred Scriptures – both from the Old and New Testament – concerning religious life as "a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God, your spiritual worship" (Romans 12:1). Every candidate was given the opportunity to use and learn from pertinent biblical passages concerning consecrated life.
Throughout the sessions, the platforms used were the Face to Face and the Livestreaming (Synchronous) through the Facebook Group "PIVM Perpetuandi 2020-21."
At this time, there are twelve (12) Rogationist Religious Students participating in the Perpetuandi Course, along with one (1) professed member of the Missionaries of the Rogate (Missionarie Rogazioniste)
