Presentation of the SMP Mid-Term Report 2020 by the Provincial Superior

The Provincial Superior, Fr. Orville Cajigal, RCJ, made a presentation of the Mid-Term Report regarding the status of the St. Matthew Province last November 30 to December 1, 2020. The participants were the perpetually professed religious of the Province, through a Zoom Online Video Conference. During the online reporting, Rev. Tom June Lancin, RCJ served as the Moderator of the meeting and the exchanges in discussions, while Rev. John Francis Aberion, RCJ facilitated the technicalities and collation of the questions and concerns raised by the Confreres.

The first day, November 30, began with an opening prayer led by the religious students of the Fr. Di Francia Center of Studies. Then, Fr. Dexter Prudenciano, RCJ, Provincial Vicar and Councilor on the Sector of the Service of Charity and Missions, delivered the opening remarks. Afterwards, a series of reports were delivered through a video presentation, with a narration of the accomplishments and works to be done by the Province. The first report was about the Profile of the St. Matthew Province, followed by the Sectors on the Service of Charity and Missions (Fr. Dexter Prudenciano), Religious Life, Formation, and Vocation Ministry (Fr. Ariel Tecson), then that of the Parishes, Laity, and Youth Ministry (Fr. Alfonso Flores), and finally, that of the Rogate (Fr. Ulrich Gacayan). To conclude the first day, Fr. Alfonso Flores, RCJ, Councilor on the Sector of the Parishes, Laity and Youth Ministry, delivered the closing remarks. The Postulants rendered a Marian song, as the closing prayer.

The second day, December 1, kicked off with an opening prayer from the Aspirants from the Fr. Hannibal Formation Center-Manila. Before the continuation of the reports, Rev. John Francis Aberion guided the participants regarding some technicalities to consider during the reporting. Then, Fr. Ariel Tecson, RCJ, Councilor on the Sector of Formation, Religious Life, and Vocation Ministry, delivered his remarks to open the day for reports. The reports from the Office of the Provincial Treasurer, Bro. Nilo Pelobello, RCJ and the Office of the Provincial Secretary and Archivist, Bro. Christian Allan De Sagun, RCJ, followed. Noteworthy that the reports regarding the Missionary Stations of Vietnam and Indonesia were also presented. Fr. Ulrich Gacayan, RCJ, Councilor on the Sector of the Rogate, shared his insights as the concluding remarks for the reporting. The event capped with the picture-taking, and the closing prayer led by the Aspirants from the St. Hannibal Formation Center-Cebu.

In those days, after the reports were presented, an open forum served as the table for the Confreres to raise questions, clarifications, concerns, insights, and suggestions. The discussions, though online, were coursed either through a live video or through the chat box on the Zoom. These enriched the presentation of the Mid-Term report and also gave a space for the Confreres to meet and greet each other. Bro. Joseph Jeric Umangga, RCJ and Bro. Kenneth Cortez, RCJ were also acknowledged in the creation of the video presentations.
